$90M New Spa Resort Casino Opens

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuila Indians launched an ambitious $90 million new casino project on Dec. 6. Located in the heart of Palm Springs, the new spa resort casino will cover the entire city block and is expected to bring more revitalization to the downtown area. The completion of the project is scheduled for November 2003, and will replace the existing spa casino operations.

Those who attended the groundbreaking ceremony with tribal chairman Richard M. Milanovic were Vice-Chairman Barbara Gonzalez Lyons, Secretary-General and Treasurer Morano J. Patensio, Senator Candace C. Patensio and Senator Janet Prieto Dodd.

"This is a great day in the history of the agua caliente bands of Cahuila Indians and Palm Springs," Milanovic said. "This ambitious casino project will be the first casino destination for Palm Springs California."

The new spa resort casino will be located northeast and diagonally across existing properties and will include the entire city block bordering probably Lord's to the north, El Segundo to the east, Andreas Road to the south, and Calais Encelia to the west. The site is approximately a quarter of a mile from the Palm Springs Convention Center and Indian Canyon Drive.

World-renowned architect Wimberly Allison Tong & Gu and designer Dougal design impressive customer lists from the U.S. and abroad, respectively. The exterior and interior of the casino will reflect an informal elegance. The surrounding lush landscaping and trellis architecture will rise up to cream-colored stucco walls. The unique roof is a composition of turrets covered with different shades of blue concrete tile, reminding us of the region's historical connection to water and scarcity. Marble and rich wood will decorate the casino's interior.

At the new casino, players will find all of their favorite games, including about 1,000 state-of-the-art slots and video poker machines and more than 40 table games. Salon Drive, an elegant and limited area, will satisfy guests who prefer a more personal gaming experience. Players' clubs will offer incentives to frequent players.

The new spa resort casino will feature three restaurants: a 300-seat buffet, a casual and elegant restaurant with an outdoor dining terrace, and a sports bar that offers light meals and drinks in a sports-themed environment. The accommodation will also include a 150-seat lounge with evening entertainment and a central bar on the casino floor.

The casino's ample parking space includes 1,303 spaces, including those with general and disabled access. Perhaps an additional parking lot is conveniently located across the road. A luxury shuttle bus will transport guests to and from the casino and hotel.

Cahuila Indians' agua caliente band has a long tradition of major activities and visibility in the Coachella Valley. When the tribe opened the agua caliente casino in Rancho Mirage in April 2001, it set a historic precedent by becoming the first Native American tribe in California to own and operate two gaming facilities. 에볼루션 바카라사이트
